Peter Rosendal "Old Man's Kitchen" is honoured by Tonekunstudvalget (the danish art foundation) a one of the best rytmical releases of the year.
The boards motivation is "Pianist and composer Peter Rosendal has with 'Old Man's Kitchen' created a CD that continually surprise and challenge the listener. As a composer he is a playful researcher in search of new discoveries, new effects and new surprising modulations. He creates a personal pictoral blend of many inspirations, as if it was the soundtrack to a kind of modern silent film. Not as soon as you think you have a firm footing, he pulls the rug and is heading somewhere new, like a fish that strikes slipped his tail.
Instrumentation and mix of the album highlights the exploratory and playful approach. A cocky, slightly devil-may-care audacity characterizes the entire album.
Fantastic!
