All the tunes on the cd "Stories" are Fini Høstrup's own, many of them having an obvious song-like
quality. Also on his previous recordings he sticks to his own tunes: "Of course I know a lot of evergreens. Many people are not aware that some of the greatest songs ever come from those big
musicals or shows, and when I write I try to make my tunes come out like.... well, songs. And so many great musicians have recorded I got rhythm, so it might be some sort of modesty on my part,
too...., but as I don't do a record date on my own too often I also felt that recording my own tunes was not entirely inappropriate."
