The Jazzclub Jive in Vejle,
Denmark was in May 2000 celebrating its 15-year anniversary. The management committee talked about arranging a special and unique concert. They first contacted Alex Riel, and he thought it was a
wonderful idea to have an anniversary band. So JIVE ended up with this quartet - three Danish veterans
and a young German sax player, who came and played on a lovely night in May. The festivities were immortalised by Verner Kjersgaard from the Danish National Radio, and his master tapes have been
used for this cd. And the recording is ample proof that it was a fabulous concert - four musicians at the top of their form, playing better than ever and enjoying each other's company in front of
an equally enthusiastic audience.
